Have a routine that's tailor-fit for your skin
Everyone has a different skin type so what works for someone might not necessarily work for you. You must first determine if you have a normal, oily, dry, or combination type of skin. From there, you can build on your routine and the products you can use on the daily. For instance, if you have oily skin, you will want to skip some serums and moisturizers and pick a gentle facial wash that effectively cleans the skin without stripping away oil. The more you know about your skin and what works best for it, the more you will be able to get closer to a fail-proof routine that's perfect for your skin.
Proper layering of products is very importantYou have all these great products on hand, but you're not really sure how to properly apply them in order. If you're not sure, a good rule to go by is to start from the product with the thinnest consistency to the one with the thickest. This means start with a cleanser, then a toner, then serum, then moisturizer, then sunscreen if you're heading out. When you apply the products that get easily absorbed first, you will be able to lock in all the layers of products better--ensuring plumper, smoother, more hydrated skin.
Don't overdo it with exfoliation
It's easy to get excited about exfoliants. They have tons of benefits, from brightening to smoothing, to clarifying your skin. However, keep in mind not to go overboard. Ideally, these products are only best used a few times per week, perhaps two or three times. And be sure to observe and listen to your skin too. If you feel that there's irritation and a sensitive reaction, decrease your usage accordingly.
Natural and organic products are a must
Don’t just slather on any old cream. Choose products with beneficial ingredients that are effective in taking care of your skin, not questionable chemicals. Natural and organic products also do minimal damage to the environment. You get better results, and you are able to protect your health and the world you live in for years to come.
