No pesticides. No fertilizers. No GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) |
Under the NPA seal, Natural products must contain 95% ingredients made from petroleum-free, renewable flora, fauna, and mineral resources. |
95% of the ingredients are of natural origin, |
Approved synthetic ingredients in the product must be people-safe and earth-friendly. Products must come in environmentally conscious packaging, and never be tested on animals. |
A word of caution: no matter what the labels say, trust your skin and understand its language. Skin tones and structures differ from person to person. Do your homework.

Follow with your favorite Nubian Heritage Body Lotion or Infused Butter. Avoid contact with eyes.

Here at Zafra, we understand your value of a brand or company which has the support of an independent governing body. A certification represents a seal of approval – that the products have passed a variety of scrutinizing conditions and qualifications.
That said, we are proud to carry brands that have been recognized by the following esteemed certification-giving organizations.

Leaping Bunny
The Leaping Bunny certification is the international gold standard for non-animal tested consumer products. It’s the globally recognized guarantee that a brand has made a genuine commitment to ending animal testing for its products. Before brands can be able to display the Leaping Bunny logo in their collaterals, they must meet Leaping Bunny’s rigorous criteria.

Non-GMO Project Verified
Non-GMO Project Verified remains the market leader for avoiding GMO in products. It is a consensus-based document crafted with the insight from dozens of industry experts, reflecting a dynamic range of perspectives, and remains current and collaborative through ongoing public comment periods. Being Non-GMO Project Verified means a brand is committed to providing consumers transparent choice in the marketplace.

Choose Cruelty Free
Choose Cruelty Free is a not-profit organization that advocates for the rights of animals. It surveys and accredits cruelty-free companies selling cosmetics, toiletries and household cleaning products mostly to Australian consumers, online and/or retail. Its standard includes additional ingredient restrictions, based on whether the ingredient may be cruel in ways other than animal testing.

GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard
The Global Organic Textile Standard ensures the organic status of textiles from the harvesting of the raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing practices. The standard covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trading and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70 percent certified organic natural fibres.

Certified by ICEA
ICEA or Istituto per la Certificazione Etica ed Ambientale inspects and certifies several thousand companies that carry out their activities in respect of individuals and the environment, protecting the dignity of workers and consumers rights. It creates added value for products and services and economic value for companies operating in the most varied sectors.

Certified organic by Quality Certification Services
An industry leader with more than 30 years of experience, Quality Certification Services is a USDA and ANSI ISO Guide 17065 accredited certification body that offers a wide array of certification options for farming of crops, livestock, aquaculture, animal feed manufacturing, packing, handling and processing and wild harvest operations.

B-CORP Corporation
B Corp Certification doesn’t just evaluate a product or service; it assesses the overall positive impact of the company that stands behind it. Certified B Corporations achieve a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment—a rigorous assessment of a company’s impact on its workers, customers, community, and environment.

USFDA
The Food and Drug Administration advances the public health by helping to speed product innovations. It is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring that food are safe, wholesome, sanitary and properly labeled; that human and veterinary drugs, and vaccines and other biological products and medical devices intended for human use are safe and effective; and that cosmetics and dietary supplements are safe and properly labeled.

Verified Gluten Free
Gluten-free certification is a process designed to protect consumers with gluten-related disorders by confirming that a food, drink or supplement meets strict standards for gluten-free safety. It assures consumers that there is third-party oversight confirming the legitimacy of the manufacturer’s gluten-free processes and claims.

WBENC
The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council Certification validates that a business is 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. To achieve this, a women-owned business has to complete a formal documentation and site visit process which is administered by one of WBENC's 14 Regional Partner Organizations.

Certified Vegan
Bearing the Certified Vegan label means that a brand has products that contain no animal ingredients or by-products; uses no animal ingredients or by-products in the manufacturing process; and never tests on animals.

NSF Certified
Choosing a product certified by NSF lets you know the company complies with strict standards and procedures imposed by NSF. From extensive product testing and material analyses to unannounced plant inspections, every aspect of a product's development is thoroughly evaluated before it can earn the NSF certification.

USDA Organic
Having the USDA Organic seal not only shows a brand’s ongoing commitment to a healthy planet but assures consumers and buyers that it meets stringent USDA organic certification requirements. If a brand is certified USDA Organic, it also passes the standards of the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances. This list, mandated by the Secretary of Agriculture, tells consumers which synthetic and non-synthetic substances may or may not be used in organic production and handling operations.

NATRUE
NATRUE defines its Label Criteria through an independent Scientific Committee – which ingredients are or are not accepted, minimum and maximum thresholds guaranteeing maximum naturalness and minimum derived natural ingredients are set. When the NATRUE Label appears on a package, you can be sure that the product it contains has gone through a reliable certification process carried out by independent certification bodies which are themselves subjected to a rigorous accreditation process with NATRUE’s partner International Organic and Sustainable Accreditation.
