Spending time to do self-care deeds when you’re a VERY busy woman sounds a little crazy. But really, believe it when they say that one of the best ways to get out of the stress is to give yourself the opportunity to reset and focus on just yourself, doing things that actually make you calm, relaxed and happy.
Yes, regardless of how busy you are, it can be done with these simple ideas.
Learn to say no
Try canceling one regular evening event, just for this week, and create an evening routine for yourself or with loved ones. If you can't get to a flat-out no, practice saying some version of it that gets you the space and time that you need. Try, “I can't give that the full attention it deserves right now.”
Meditate
Now that you have more time for yourself from saying no, you have the luxury of meditating. This practice is very important because it'll help you focus, center yourself, and it's the ultimate way to care for yourself. What better way to focus on yourself than looking inward?
Cut on the caffeine
It probably seems like caffeine is the most important thing in the world right now--it's even the first thing you look for after waking up. But relying on it so much can only cause trouble in the long run. Excess caffeine can also lead to jitteriness, especially when combined with too little sleep and can exacerbate stress and anxiety. Instead, try green tea during the day, and chrysanthemum tea, or chamomile tea before bed, and limit caffeine after lunch. Remember caffeine isn't just in coffee but also found in tea, soft drinks, chocolate, and other sports drinks.
Dress to kill
Pamper yourself by wearing the clothes you love whenever you have to step out of the house. Don’t forget to put on make-up and look glamorous. If you don’t have the time, just use mascara, eye liner, and lipstick.
Take your time in the bath
Nothing can beat a long hot bath when it comes to relieving stress. A hot bath can also boost your mood, induce sleep, and relax your achy muscles. Taking a hot bath means simply sitting back and relaxing. Do play your favorite music. Use essential oils in your bath to help you de-stress or feel refreshed.
Light a scented candle
People are hard-wired to enjoy flames and scent, so lighting a candle gives you the best of both worlds. Have the candle burning and every now and again, take a break from what you are doing and focus on the flickering light.
